About Me
Welcome to My Practice
Welcome. My name is Lisa Parker, and I am a trauma-informed therapist with extensive training and experience in walking with people through their personal life journeys. For over a decade, I have had the privilege of supporting clients as they gain clarity, healing, and freedom. I have witnessed clients grow more connected to themselves, their partners, and the people around them—and it is an honor to be part of that process.
Professional Background
I am a dual-licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Master’s degree in California and have been serving clients throughout the state of Texas for over a decade. My clinical training is grounded in Systemic Theory and Person-Centered Theory.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe strongly in the power of the therapeutic relationship. My goal is for every client to feel heard, understood, and genuinely seen as we work together. I come alongside clients with warmth, collaboration, and respect, meeting them exactly where they are. I also place a high value on staying current with the empirical data and literature that shape our field. As a therapist who cares deeply about the well-being of my clients, I consider it both a responsibility and a privilege to continually grow in my knowledge and skills so I can offer the most effective, thoughtful care possible.
Specialized Modalities
My approach is personalized for each individual, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities:
Systemic Therapy
Person-Centered Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Narrative Therapy
Parts Work (Internal Family Systems—IFS, Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment—TIST)
Holistic practices that support overall well-being, including mindfulness and attention to the mind–body connection
